Juniors: Eggy Cooking Competition - Evaluation & Judging Criteria

Alright all you potential Eggy Chefs!

This is how you and your eggy dishes will be evaluated and judged during the competition. The performance of the squad will be evaluated by the Squad Officer and the dishes will be judged by the panel of judges.


The Squad Officers will oversee the individual squad and will be evaluating them based on the following:
Teamwork & Leadership (0 - 10 pts)

- Does the team members work well together?

- Is everyone well utilized? Anyone lepaking or unwilling to pull their own weight?
- Are things done in an orderly manner?

- Is the Squa
d well led? Can the SL handle the team members well?
- Are clear instructions given to all team members by the Squad Leader?


Hygiene (0 - 10 pts)

- Does the squad p
ractice good hygiene?
- Do they wash their hands and utentils before
using them?
- Do they clean their raw materials properly?


Cleanliness (0 - 10 pts)

- Cleanliness of the workplace, table, stove, floor, garbage bin, pots & pans, utensils, etc


Deductions (Max -20 pts) - Deductions for squads not following the rules of the competition e.g. bring pre-prepared food chopped up by the parent or maid, does not follow safety procedures, handling knives dangerously, running around, members not helping out with the squad, taking things from other squad without asking for permission, sabotaging others, arguing and fighting, etc.

The panel of judges will taste and judge your egg dishes based on:Varieties of Egg Dishes (0 - 10 pts)
- Each Squad is tasked with preparing 5 different types of egg dishes cooked with different methods e.g. half/full boiled, fried, scrambled, omelette, poached, steamed. To be awarded 2 pts per type of cooking.


Deliciousness
Factor - Dish 1 (0-10 pts per dish. Total of max 50 pts for all 5 dishes)
- How good
is the egg dish both in taste and physical presentation?
- Good usage
of different ingredients to complement the egg?
- Edibility


Presentation (0 - 10 pts)

- How good is the verbal presentation by the team member(s) in describing their egg dishes, the ingredients and cooking process?
- How good is the marketing? Will you order the dish in a restaurant?


Deductions (Max -20 pts)

- Deductions for un-BB conduct e.g. does not follow safety procedures, handling knives dangerously, arguing and fighting, disparaging other squads & etc.


Now, to rev
eal the composite of the Judges. They consist of Selangor State Commissioner, 3 Selangor State Exco Members and HCapt TT Koh.

The prizes? The Grand 1st price will be a BB Watch! We will announce the rest of the prizes during the competition but it will not be close to the 1st prize! So work h
ard for it!

The tentative timing for the competition:
2.00 - 2.15pm - Fall-in
2.15 - 2.45pm - Worship with Selangor Exco
2.45 - 3.00pm - Eggy Competition Briefing
3.00 - 4.30pm - Cooking time
4.30 - 4.45pm - Setting up the Egg Dishes for judging & cleani
ng up
4.45 - 5.15pm - Judges evaluation
5.15 - 5.30pm - Squad Eggy makan
5.30pm - Fall-out and announcement of winners
